We have some news about our Charity Shops…

May 26, 2023 by

Wednesday 26th May 2023

This summer, we are merging both Living Room Charity Shops together, to make one new and improved store at the current main shop premises of No.14 The Glebe.

The merger gives us the perfect opportunity to refurbish, bring up-to-date and expand the main shop which will include a brilliant new children’s section. This means we will be closing the current children’s premises as we combine the two together.

Our new family shop will feel more spacious, but with the same great deals, friendly staff and volunteers.

We will be closing our main shop for a short time during the school summer holidays whilst refurbishment works take place, but we will keep you informed of when this is due to happen.  Posters will be displayed in both shop windows and announcements on social media.

At present, we are still accepting donations in both our shops, but due to needing the space to do the refurbishment, we will pause donations for as short a time as possible.  We will let you know in advance of when this is going to happen and we will keep you informed every step of the way.

Following the closure and refurbishment, we can’t wait to invite you to our exciting re-launch event in September.

We very much value your donations and custom.  All profits go to support The Living Room, community rehabilitation.  Charity no. 1175541.

Breathe in calm, breathe out stress…

The Box Breathing Tool, created by Watford counsellor Yousef Kira Durrani, is a simple yet highly effective technique designed to help regulate the nervous system during times of anxiety, stress, overwhelm, or emotional discomfort.

By following a structured pattern of breathing in, holding, breathing out, and holding again for equal counts, we can slow our heart rate, calm racing thoughts, and bring our attention back to the present moment.
