Emergency Alerts Information

April 21, 2023 by

Friday, 21 April 2023

At 3pm this Sunday, 23rd April, 2023 a UK-wide test of an emergency alert is due to take place on EVERY MOBILE PHONE in the country.

This means that most phones or tablets will make a siren-like sound for up to 10 seconds, including devices switched to silent mode. Devices will also vibrate and display a message about the test.

Sometimes those living with domestic abuse have a mobile phone hidden ‘just in case’. Please remember to switch it off on Sunday 23rd April.

Your hidden phone must be switched off during this time to avoid discovery.

Even if this post doesn’t apply to you, please share anyway. You will be connected to someone living with domestic abuse right now and sharing this information could help them stay safe.

Breathe in calm, breathe out stress…

The Box Breathing Tool, created by Watford counsellor Yousef Kira Durrani, is a simple yet highly effective technique designed to help regulate the nervous system during times of anxiety, stress, overwhelm, or emotional discomfort.

By following a structured pattern of breathing in, holding, breathing out, and holding again for equal counts, we can slow our heart rate, calm racing thoughts, and bring our attention back to the present moment.
