Do you drink or use drugs?
If so, you could be at increased risk of getting COVID-19.
It is important for you to get vaccinated when you are offered it.
If you are not registered with a GP surgery, you can find out how on the NHS website. Remember, you have the RIGHT to receive treatment from a GP surgery.
What to expect when you get the vaccine:
- When it is your turn to get a vaccination, you will receive a letter from the NHS with details of how to book – Someone else can book for you if you need to.
- When you have booked, you will receive a number you need to take with you on the day – if you have a Carer, they can attend your appointment with you.
- The appointment should take around 30-45 minutes and you will need to wear a mask unless you are exempt.
- It’s useful to have your NHS number with you – you can find it using this tool on the NHS website.
- You may feel some mild discomfort (sore arm or tired), don’t worry, that’s normal and this doesn’t usually last long. If you’re worried about any symptoms call 111.

Need additional help or support?
- Ask your Recovery Worker or Counsellor if you are worried about anything.
- If you need any extra help or changes to make it possible for you to have your vaccination, please mention them when you book your appointment.
- If you have a phobia or are feeling anxious about anything, let a member of staff know so that they can support you – don’t worry, it’s Ok to feel like that.
