MBDA step up to the mark

July 21, 2017 by

We are indebted to Stevenage-based defence firm, MBDA, and their team of apprentices who gave up their time to help decorate our main counselling room this week. MBDA has been a long-term supporter of The Living Room and regularly donates time and money to the charity.

The team of 10 MBDA apprentices joined our own staff and made light work of transforming our counselling room into a bright and welcoming environment for our clients. On behalf of our service users, staff and volunteers, we’d like to thank the whole MBDA team for their contribution.

Breathe in calm, breathe out stress…

The Box Breathing Tool, created by Watford counsellor Yousef Kira Durrani, is a simple yet highly effective technique designed to help regulate the nervous system during times of anxiety, stress, overwhelm, or emotional discomfort.

By following a structured pattern of breathing in, holding, breathing out, and holding again for equal counts, we can slow our heart rate, calm racing thoughts, and bring our attention back to the present moment.
