The Living Room at the St Albans Sleepout

November 23, 2022 by

 Wednesday 30th November 2022

On Friday 11th of November, The Living Room staff, volunteers and fundraisers slept outside in the cold to raise funds and awareness for partnering charities tackling the causes and effects of homelessness. The night proved to be an amazing success for all the charities involved and a massive hit for the participants, many of which took part in previous Sleep Outs.

We are incredibly proud of our participants and would like to extend a special thank you to our fundraisers for showing their support for The Living Room.

~

We would also like to congratulate Herts Young Homeless, Centre 33, Emmaus, and Open Doors St Albans for organising this amazing event. To many more Sleepers next year!

Breathe in calm, breathe out stress…

The Box Breathing Tool, created by Watford counsellor Yousef Kira Durrani, is a simple yet highly effective technique designed to help regulate the nervous system during times of anxiety, stress, overwhelm, or emotional discomfort.

By following a structured pattern of breathing in, holding, breathing out, and holding again for equal counts, we can slow our heart rate, calm racing thoughts, and bring our attention back to the present moment.
