Hours: Bank – as and when required

Salary: £14.73 per hour dependant on qualifications and experience

Job Description

Job Pack

Counsellors trained to minimum of Level 3 are needed to help us deliver our services. Must have lived experience of recovery for our main group sessions or be specialist in a particular behavioural addiction. You should be a fellow of BACP or FDAP or working towards membership. If you are in recovery, you should have a minimum of 5 years of continued abstinence.

All groups are facilitated by two counsellors practicing psycho-therapeutic, psycho-dynamic, person-centred and CBT approaches. You will be supported and will develop as part of a professional and innovative team. We work with our clients on their journey from triage to planned exit, so good IT skills are essential. You will receive great training from skilled professionals in group therapy and dynamics.

The service will be delivered in one of our hubs in Stevenage, St Albans or Watford.

Usual hours are from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

We are an equal opportunities employer, working with vulnerable adults, therefore an enhanced DBS will be required.

If you are interested in finding out more, contact our Therapeutic Director, Debbie via email – [email protected] or complete an application form. If you would like a paper application form to be posted to you, call us on 0300 365 0304

Breathe in calm, breathe out stress…

The Box Breathing Tool, created by Watford counsellor Yousef Kira Durrani, is a simple yet highly effective technique designed to help regulate the nervous system during times of anxiety, stress, overwhelm, or emotional discomfort.

By following a structured pattern of breathing in, holding, breathing out, and holding again for equal counts, we can slow our heart rate, calm racing thoughts, and bring our attention back to the present moment.
